Admission is by interview/assessment of which the principal criteria will be:-

  • The Headmaster's judgement as to whether the applicant will benefit from the broad education offered, and will in turn make a useful contribution to the life of the school.
  • Recent academic (or other relevant) reports

Where possible, prospective pupils are encouraged to spend two consecutive "trial days" with us, during which some diagnostic testing may be conducted. Prospective pupils are not, however, required to sit an entrance examination.

Entry may be at any age from 7-15, and at any stage during the academic year, subject to the availability of places. Pupils from the Preparatory Department will ordinarily join the Senior School (11-16) as a matter of course.
