The Chilton Cantelo Drum Corps drew quite a crowd when they performed outside Sherborne Abbey prior to the end of term Carol Service.

The end of term Christmas Carol Service took place in the spectacular Sherborne Abbey on Friday 9 December, marking the end of a very busy autumn term.
The choirs sang beautifully and the readers read clearly, attracting some fabulous comments from members of the public who had joined the service.

The Prep got everyone into a festive mood with their spectacular Christmas Celebration in St James Church. Each year group gave their own performance, together with musical treats and a good sprinkling of carols.

Its starting to look a lot like Christmas in Year 3's classroom with one corner of the room transformed into Santa's grotto. The children take turns to dress up and they all help to wrap presents for Father Christmas to deliver on Christmas Eve.

Congratulations to Oliver Beardmore, who together with his partner, Maria, reached the quarter finals of the Disney U12 Latin dance category at the World Dance Council competition in Paris. The standard was high, with many talented performers taking part in this world-class competition.
Year 7 pupil Oliver has been dancing with Maria since 2007. They are currently placed 10th in England (1009 in the World). So far their best mark is getting into 1 in the Juvenile Latin Trophy at the City of Birmingham Championships earlier in the year.

Pupils, parents and staff were treated to An Evening of Dance, showcasing the talents of our Dance Club. Dances were choreographed by the pupils themselves under the expert guidance of Miss Smith and the audience was delighted to be treated to exhibition dances from pupils Kieran and Oliver Beardmore, who also represent England.
The Club is part of our evening activities programme and is open to students from Year 3 to Year 11. Coffee and mince pies were enjoyed in the drawing room following the performance.

The beautiful voices of the Chilton Cantelo School Chamber Choir rang out in Brownsword Hall in Poundbury, marking the start of advent. The Choir were accompanied by former pupils Leanne Atkinson, Soprano; and Ellie Byfield, Alto and Saxophone; together with Conductor Peter Rice. They delighted the audience with a mix of contemporary and traditional songs from Someone Like You by Adele and Fix You by Coldplay to the more customary Once in Royal David’s City. They held a second concert at St James Church, Chilton Cantelo, on Wednesday 30 November, leaving the audience with a truly festive feel.

Year 3 were delighted to decorate the Chilton Cantelo Christmas tree as part of the St Barnabas Queen Camel Christmas Tree Festival.
