Cake Sale for The Gambia
Thank you so much for your support with our recent cake sale to raise funds for a hospital in The Gambia. We raised £316.50! We have added that to the funds raised during the Wrong Shirt and Tie Day at the end of last year, making a total of £564.98 and have topped that sum up to a grand total of £600 for our Year 11 students to donate to a village hospital during their October half term trip to The Gambia.
Bag 2 School
For the past two years we have been involved in a scheme called Bag 2 School. It simply involves bagging up any unwanted items of clothes, soft toys, shoes, bed linen, etc, bringing them in to School on a specific day (this year is Tuesday 1 November) when they are collected by Bag 2 School who pay us by the kilo for the items collected. Collection bags have been given to pupils and further bags are available from reception. However, you may use any bag you like. This is an excellent way to clean out your wardrobe for autumn and raise funds for your School at the same time.
Christmas Fair 2011
The Christmas Fair will be held on Friday 25 November from 16:00-19:00 in the Sports Hall.We have changed the time of the event this year in response to feedback from parents, with the earlier start time allowing parents to do some of their shopping whilst the children are still in lessons before collecting them at the end of the normal school day to enjoy the event together.
In addition to our range of festive stalls and refreshments, we have introduced more stalls for the pupils to get involved with and to shop at. There will be more games for them to take part in, stalls with pocket money priced gifts and hot dogs. Something for everyone!
We are looking for the following items to sell at the Christmas Fair
Items for the bottle stall - bottles of wine, 500ml bottles of pop for the children
Jolly Jars - jam jars filled with items children will enjoy such as sweets, stationery, toy soldiers, hair bands, soft toys, golf balls and tees, packets of seeds, anything that will fit in a jam jar really!
Please take items to reception during this half term leading up to the week before the Christmas Fair
