Chilton Cantelo School

My Archery Coach also represents Great Britain and it is very exciting to be coached by someone who has reached the top of their field

Sport

The School is committed to sport for all and, as such, a programme of physical education (which incorporates health and fitness and a basic understanding of anatomy and physiology) is taught throughout the school as part of the core timetable. In addition, each year group has the opportunity to take part in the main team sports - both in games lessons and in extra curricular sports clubs. The School's fixture list is extensive and adheres to our inclusive ethos. Thus, we aim to offer fixtures for a range of abilities.

Major Games for boys are football, rugby and cricket, with some hockey, tennis and athletics.

For girls, netball, hockey and rounders are the main sports, with girls also enjoying tennis, athletics and (increasingly) football.

Horse riding (additional charge), swimming, martial arts and archery are offered as activities and the school makes use of good local facilities and coaches for these activities. We also make use of the neighbouring astroturf pitch at RNAS Yeovilton for hockey matches and training.
