Year 3
In Year 3 the children learn in a manner that is fun and engaging, bringing learning to life for each class member. Activities are tailored to carefully stretch and challenge each individual child, whilst enabling them to experience success. I love working with the children to discover something new and the children can often be found conducting science experiments or trying out design technology ideas.
We also make use of our beautiful surroundings; regularly donning our wellies for a stomp around the site to wake up our brains! I have a huge passion for teaching English and Maths and my blend of Maths and grammar games with fast-paced, engaging lessons enables the children to make rapid progress. Our cosy book corner contains a constantly changing supply of books to tempt the children and they love curling up on the cushions to enjoy a book during Quiet Time. The children read to me every day, and we also share a whole class story at the end of each day.
I create weekly themes for Year 3 that provide a continuity to our activities across the curriculum. From Pirates to Outer Space, Africa to Under the Sea, our themes deepen the children’s learning and really engage them in activities.
The Year 3 classroom is a wonderful place to be and I feel so privileged watching the children grow and flourish before my eyes. No two days are ever the same and the children delight and impress me every day! Our classroom door is always open, so please do feel free to visit us and see how magical it is for yourself.
